My pledge

I know that: I want to abide in Him

Because …. I want to live a life of significance and satisfying fruitfulness.

I also know that God provides when we respond.

These are the truths that should direct our decisions regarding the orphans:
1. God is deeply in love with the poor and the outcast
2. God wants to love them through me… (Judy Douglas – Lima 2008)
3. Joy comes when we participate with God in caring for people that are so close to His heart.
4. I had experienced God’s unconditional love for me during our adoption journey
5. I had the most tremendous feeling of Joy, pleasure and contentment when I was with the children of the orphanage in Brazil.

My part:

I will help people God places around me of good testimonies, which will want to adopt children.
· I will encourage them
· I will give money to help
· I will guide them to resources
· I will be there to help as needed

I will help the orphans God places around me.
· I will pray for them that they would find a home
· I will pray to God to direct me if my house is their home
· I will pray for their conversion
· I will pray they understand that God is their Father
· I will tell them that God is their Father
· I will tell them I am praying for them
· I will visit them everywhere God takes me

I will do these practical things:
· When I travel to places and I forget to change the money back to dollars, I will use that money to send to orphanages. (Deuteronomy 24)
· I will “go back to get” what I have forgotten only to give it to the orphan. (Deuteronomy 24)
· I will help the Christian organizations that God has placed around me that care for the orphans in a loving way.
· Before traveling to a city or a different country, I will ask the Lord to direct me to the orphanage in that place so I can visit them.

“He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given”. Proverbs 19:17

Our mission started on our dating anniversary date

We came back from southern Brazil with 4 holes in our hearts.
After 2 years, we returned to the same orphanage where we met Brian, a child we were not able to adopt; today, we have adopted David and Julia from Russia.
Our 9 year old friend Brian and his best friend Ivan have committed their lives to Christ, Brian was then adopted by another great family and so, we thought it was time to go back to the place where we started our adoption journey. We were actually joyful.

I still feel their eyes asking me more questions that the ones they voiced. The same older kids are still there. “Auntie, is it true you already adopted two children?”

Brian and I came back from Brazil the week before thanksgiving with 4 holes in our hearts: Areli, Alessandra, Beatriz y Gabriel who are still waiting to be adopted.
Brian and I are praying to find God’s direction on this situation, but in the meantime, we have felt the call from God to advocate for the ones that are still waiting.

Today, Orphan Advocate Mission started.

Today is a special day as Brian and I celebrate the day we first started dating back in 1990 and the day that Brian asked me to marry, that was back in 1991.

Here is a picture of the children that inspires us to go on into this new adventure.
They are christians, well behave children, sweet, and are doing well in school. They need to be adopted together.
